A printer that stamps tweets out onto paper around a circular array
For the 100th anniversary celebrations for the Johnson typeface that TfL use on their branding, this installation was commissioned. Conceived by Florian Dussopt, it takes in tweets with a specific hashtag and prints them out, letter by letter.
An arm rotates through 360 degrees, moving a sheet of paper to the correct position in front of a letter stamp, before a pneumatic cylinder pushes the sheet up against the stamp.
I did all the mechanical design and build and the motion control coding.
