Glasses to restrict peripheral vision as research on GPS use
We use GPS based contextual mapping more and more, especially in the urban environment. As we become more reliant on this technological sense, will our spacial awareness diminish completely? I created a pair of goggles using ultra wide-angle fisheye lenses that dramatically distort your perspective and sense of 3 dimensional awareness. As the wearer, you have to navigate a simple map on the floor, similar to a digital street map. You are forced to move your body based purely on what you see with your eyes, which is suddenly dramatically different from your normal physical co-ordination.
I then refined the design to create a pair of glasses.
