An inflatable moon balloon that draws people in
The moon has a considerable control over our lives. Collaborating with Sarah Cockings, we thought it might be interesting to try taking some of that control back! We created an 8m helium filled moon balloon. Through an internal lighting structure, viewers on the ground could control the phase of the moon. Funded by Secret Garden Party and Burning Man festivals, we exhibited the piece at both festivals. We managed to get the last non-vital helium supply in the UK to show it at Secret Garden Party, but we were unable to get helium for Burning Man, so filled the balloon with air and suspended it.
